The Main Reason Why Many Men Have Trouble Expressing Feelings - A Common Misconception Women Have.

Extracts:

Women have the major misconception as to why men are unable to express themselves in a relationship. Women believes that men are aware of how they feel inside them but are not comfortable in expressing to their partner as this would sound so unmanly. And because of that, women are led to conclude that men purposely withhold something which she would like him to express and that might create mistrust and misunderstanding in the relationship.

The truth is this, men are actually unaware of what they feel because they have not developed a comprehensive emotional vocabulary. Men are less socialized to be aware of their emotions and hence their emotional attainment is not as developed as in women.

Hence, when men find themselves confronted with having to share their feelings in the relationship, they feel handicapped, inadequate and incompetent. What is worse is that they do not know why they feel that way because they have not developed the tools to understand their feelings. So its like been kept in the dark not knowing what to do to get out of it. When pressed by their partner to express themselves, they panic and try to avoid the conversation altogether.

It’s necessary that both men and women understand this issue because this is one of the reason relationships hit the rock.

They need to understand that third problem exist in their partner and start to be patient and supportive.
